Reputation in AI and the media

Your name, read correctly
by people and machines.

When a journalist, a client or an AI assistant looks you up, what they find is your reputation. We audit what is written about you, correct what can be corrected, and build the record that gets quoted.

What we do

Seven services,
each with a clear scope

1

Reputation audit

A documented review of how your name appears across news archives, search results and the main AI assistants. Suited to directors, founders and firms preparing for a listing, raise or tender.

2

AI citation mapping

We test which sources AI tools draw on when asked about you or your company, and where they get facts wrong. You receive a ranked list of what to fix first.

3

News coverage monitoring

Weekly tracking of coverage on news24 and other South African outlets, with a short note on tone, accuracy and anything that needs a response.

4

Correction requests

Where a published fact is wrong, we prepare a precise, polite request to the newsroom or platform, with evidence attached. We do not pressure editors.

5

Source-of-record build

A well-structured company page, leadership biographies and fact sheets that journalists and AI systems can cite without guessing.

6

Crisis-readiness brief

A short, rehearsed plan covering who speaks, what is confirmed and how the record is updated when a story breaks. Written for small leadership teams.

7

Media briefing support

Preparation for interviews and press statements, so that the quotes that survive are the ones you meant.

Client notes

What clients say
after the first quarter

An AI assistant was giving our founder a career history that was half wrong. Ciresta traced it to two old sources and it was corrected within weeks.
Thandi M.Managing director, logistics firm, Midrand
Calm, exact and never theatrical. The monthly note on coverage is the one document my board reads in full.
Pieter V.Chief financial officer, asset manager, Sandton
We had a mistaken figure in a news report. Their correction request was so well evidenced that the newsroom replied the same day.

Questions

Plain answers
to common questions

Can you remove an article about me?

Rarely, and we will not promise it. Newsrooms seldom unpublish accurate reporting. We can seek corrections of factual errors and strengthen the surrounding record.

Do you control what AI assistants say?

No one does. We influence the sources those systems rely on, then test the answers regularly and report what has changed.

Do you work with news24 or other publishers?

We are independent of every publisher. We monitor news24 and other outlets as public sources and deal with their editorial teams through normal channels.

How long until we see results?

Audits take two to three weeks. Corrections depend on newsroom response times, and changes in AI answers usually follow over one to three months.

Is the work confidential?

Yes. Engagements are covered by a written confidentiality agreement and handled under POPIA.

Who is this for?

Companies, executives, professionals and public figures in South Africa whose name carries commercial or professional weight.

Do you write fake reviews or buy coverage?

Never. Everything we publish is true, signed off by you and traceable to evidence.

02

Audit the record

We review news, search and AI answers and mark each finding as accurate, outdated or wrong.

03

Correct and build

We send evidenced correction requests and publish clear, citable material on channels you own.

04

Monitor and report

Monthly notes show what changed, what is new and what we suggest next.

Self-check

How exposed is
your record?

Reading your score

0 to 1 — Your record looks sound. A light audit once a year should be enough.

2 to 3 — There are gaps worth closing. An audit would show you where to start.

4 to 5 — Your name is likely being misread. We suggest a review soon.

working across South Africa

Where we cover

  • Pretoria and Menlyn (in-person meetings)
  • Johannesburg, Sandton and Midrand
  • Cape Town and the Western Cape (by arrangement)
  • Remote engagements anywhere in South Africa

Where we do not

  • On-site work outside South Africa
  • Coverage monitoring of non-English foreign media
  • Local services for businesses outside our client sectors

Most engagements run remotely, with in-person sessions in Pretoria.

08

What we do not take on

Some work
belongs elsewhere

  • We do not remove accurate news reports or promise takedowns.
  • We do not write fake reviews, buy coverage or manipulate rankings.
  • We do not provide legal advice or litigate defamation claims.
  • We do not run paid advertising or social media accounts.
  • We do not manage political campaigns.

For defamation or privacy claims, speak to an attorney. For press-code complaints, the Press Council of South Africa is the right body. We are glad to work alongside either.
